Meet the Council Members!

Mark Geiger

Mark has lived in Commercial Point for 5 years and he resides in the downtown area with his wife Nancy, a lifelong Commercial Point resident, and his daughter Haley. Mark has been employed at Cummins Diesel for over 12 years and has a degree in Information Technology and is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Over the last 5 years Mark and his Wife Nancy have given much of their free time to the Community. Nancy is the current PTO president at Scioto Elementary and Mark has helped her with PTO functions as well as coaching for the Scioto Kids Association.

Mark was elected to his four year term that began January 1, 2014 and ends December 31, 2017.


Brad Laxton

Brad grew up in a small town in South Carolina as the son of a Tire Factory Worker and a Nurse. Brad loved the small town atmosphere of Commercial Point, and that was one of the main reasons he and his wife, Misty, (a lifelong resident) chose to make their home here and raise their daughters, Savannah, Sarah and Morgan.  The Laxton Family reside in Chestnut Estates. Both Brad and Misty are employed with Nationwide Insurance. Brad completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education.

Brad was elected to his four year term that began January 1, 2014 and ends December 31, 2017.

 

 


David Sadler

David works in the Insurance Industry and has over 15 years of Information Technology experience.  He and his wife live in Chestnut

Estates and they have one daughter.   David has a Finance degree from Columbus State, Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and will be finishing up his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan in the Spring of 2014.

 

David was elected to his four year term that began January 1, 2014 and ends December 31, 2017.

 

 


Becky Blevins

Becky grew up on a farm in Crawford County Ohio and attended Buckeye Central High School at New Washington. She majored in Business Administration at Greenville College in Greenville. IL. With a secondary in elementary education.  She also attended Columbus State for additional classes in marketing and business.  Retired in 2008 after 30 yrs. in management she and her husband moved to Olde Town Commercial Point in 2013 and she is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.  Becky is married with 5 grown children, 11 grandchildren& 1 great grandchild. 

Becky was appointed to council December 2016 to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Nicole Evans.

 

 


Ben Townsend

Ben has lived in Commercial Point for 6 years and currently resides in West Scioto Green with his wife and daughter.  He has been married for 7 years to his wife, Afton Townsend.  He graduated from Grove City High School in 2004 and has been in law enforcement since 2008.

Ben was elected to his four year term that began January 1, 2016 and ends December 31, 2019.
